Dear Central Valley Surf Players and Parents,
As you are already most likely aware, our San Joaquin County COVID reported numbers have been favorable in the recent week to the extent that we have hit our target of 14 to 100k ratio needed to allow competitions to resume.
What Does This Mean for Soccer in the weeks ahead?
- Our Norcal Premier League affiliate has hosted some very informative Return-To-Play Town Hall meetings with all us clubs, to cover everything from how we ease back into some upcoming competitions on a per county basis, assessing the status of field availability per county, identifying each clubs rosters and the depth of those rosters to balance competition, and much more.
- Your Surf leadership is fully engaged in getting our players back on the field and playing matches as soon as possible, BUT, as safe as possible, first and foremost. We are being encouraged by all soccer experts and sports related authorities to return to games in a responsible and healthy way that benefits the kids. Afterall, they haven’t seen competition or contact training since March 11, 2020.
- We still must follow The State of California Gatherings Guidelines, and the C.D.P.H (California Department of Health) guidelines. We asked that you please take the time to inform yourself of these important guidelines that we all must practice: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CID/DCDC/Pages/COVID-19/outdoor-indoor-recreational-sports.aspx
- More information to follow this weekend.
Because of improving conditions, some fields are starting to either re-open in moderation or consider re-opening soon. We are glad to announce that we are able to re-start training at River Islands Soccer Complex in MODERATION, as the facility management wants to ease back into field use for now. We have been working diligently with the City of Stockton to try our best to assist them in their Return-To-Open plans, in an effort to get our local membership back on the pitch there as well. We hope to have some good news very soon regarding this location as well. We will do our best to update the Training Calendars in TeamSnap even faster, now that we have field options re-opening. This has been a Central Valley challenge for many, many clubs. We again Thank You for your cooperation and understanding.
Let’s get back to real soccer!
